Opal Design awning
The Opal Design is the awning we fit when the terrace is the main event. A fully closed cassette swallows the fabric, the arms and the front bar when it retracts, so what is left on the wall in January is a clean aluminium box rather than a rolled up awning.
It is also the model built to carry the extras. LED strips run inside the arms and an infrared heater mounts under the front bar, both wired in at installation and both on the same remote as the awning itself.

Is this the right one?
- Large terraces — up to 6.5m in a single unit, so a wide space is covered without a join down the middle.
- Evening use — integrated lighting and heating make it the one model that genuinely works after dark in April and October.
- Front elevations — the closed cassette is the tidiest thing we can leave on a visible wall.
- Awnings left out — the heaviest arms and the strongest fixings in the range, paired with wind safety lock.
Worth knowing before you order
- It needs a good fixing — sound masonry or a reinforced soffit. We check this at survey before anything is ordered.
- It needs power — a fused supply near the cassette. We can usually work with an existing outdoor circuit.
Built around the cassette
The cassette is extruded aluminium, powder coated in your choice of finish and sealed at both ends. It keeps London grime and winter damp off the fabric, which is the single biggest factor in how an awning looks after five years.
Brackets are specified to the wall we are fixing to, whether that is brick, a concrete lintel or a steel beam over an extension.
Multi-section unit
For truly large terraces / commercial areas, the system is designed as a coupled multi-section unit, allowing a width of 12.0m. ‘Full cassette maintains an elegant, flat profile with a height of just 16 cm , blending seamlessly with sophisticated architecture.’

Fully closed cassette
Fabric, arms and front bar all sit inside the housing when retracted, which is why this model handles being left up all season and stays clean between uses.
Lighting and heating designed in
Optional dimmable LED strips inside the arms and an infrared heater on the front bar, both fitted at installation and both on the same handset.
Wind and sun sensors
The wind sensor retracts the awning when gusts build. The optional sun sensor extends it when the terrace gets hot, which is useful if you are out during the day.
Intelligent wind sensor
Available across the range. The sensor reads the gusts and retracts the awning automatically, so it is never left out in weather it should not be in, whether you are home or not.
Powder coated aluminium
Frame, arms and housing are coated aluminium, specified to stand outside in London year round without rusting or needing repainting.
Fitted by our own team
We survey, fit, wire the motor and set the pitch, then test it with you before we leave. Most installations are completed in a day.
